This campaign was commissioned by the NOSP (National Office for Suicide Prevention) and the HSE. The aim was to improve awareness and understanding of mental health and mental wellbeing. When we hear the expression ‘mental health’, we unconsciously negatively interpret it as ‘mental illness’.

The truth is that one in four of us will be affected by a mental health problem (stress, depression, addiction, suicide, self harm) at some stage in our lives. This is an issue that is deeply relevant to each and every one of us. We all have ‘mental health’.

The campaign ‘Your Mental Health’ aimed to encourage people to talk about their problems and promote mental health as an aspect of life that all people should take care of.

The results speak for themselves. 75% of people who saw the campaign said they would think differently about their mental health and 77% of people wanted to find out more about how to look after their mental health. There were also 31,000 visits to the ‘Your Mental Health’ Page on Bebo.
